Aider has completed 100 acquisitions since launching in 2019, marking a major milestone in its ambition to build a comprehensive professional services platform across Europe.

Today, Aider operates more than 64 offices across Norway and Northern Europe, serving both SMB and enterprise clients.
The company has grown to nearly 2,000 employees and established strong capabilities across accounting, payroll, technology, advisory, tax and legal services.
“When Knut and I founded Aider, the goal was never just to scale a traditional accounting firm. We set out to challenge the industry by building a powerhouse of professional services where people, culture and expertise carry equal weight to the numbers.
Reaching 100 acquisitions confirms that this approach is working,” says CEO Andreas Vik.
Growth has been driven by a combination of organic expansion and targeted acquisitions of high quality firms and specialist environments.
Key milestones include the acquisition of Tet in 2020, the integration of PwC’s accounting business in Norway in 2022, and the launch of Aider Legal through Magnus Legal and Strandenæs.
Aider Legal now includes more than 50 lawyers.
Aider has also established an international footprint through acquisitions and market entries in Sweden, Denmark and Poland during 2025 and 2026.
This includes the establishment in Denmark in 2025, the acquisition of MDDP Outsourcing in Poland in 2025, and the acquisition of Baker Tilly Denmark in 2026.
These steps strengthen Aider’s ability to support clients across borders and provide access to broader expertise and capacity in multiple European markets.
The company has also built one of the strongest technology environments in the industry, with more than 140 specialists.
The recent appointment of Runar Vestrheim as CTO signals an increased focus on scaling its technology capabilities.
“The future is digital, but that makes people even more important. Technology, automation and AI should strengthen the connection to our clients, not weaken it. Our ambition is to equip our people to deliver more value, not less. With Runar in place, we are entering the next phase,”
says Vik.
Aider emphasizes that its growth strategy is not driven by scale alone.
“We do not make decisions based on spreadsheets alone. Culture, people and mindset are decisive. We are selective in what we bring into Aider, because the goal is not growth for its own sake, but to build something that lasts,” says Anders Aasen, Head of M&A and Business Development.
A defining element of the company’s model is the combination of strong local presence with national reach and international capabilities.
“Being close to our clients is fundamental. We aim to understand their day to day realities and contribute beyond core deliveries. At the same time, we combine local insight with international expertise to create additional value,” says Vik.
Executive Chairman Knut Grotli believes the milestone reinforces the company’s direction.
“Our ambition has always been to challenge the established and build something that stands out, for both clients and employees. We have made strong progress, but we are far from finished. We will continue to push the industry forward,” says Grotli.
Looking ahead, Aider will continue to develop its organization, services and technology, with a focus on realizing more of the potential in the companies already part of Aider, and on setting a new standard for how accounting, payroll, advisory and technology services are delivered across markets.
